James Brown, legendary singer, songwriter, bandleader and dancer died on Christmas Day. “The Minister of Super Heavy Funk” died of a heart failure after a bout of pneumonia. He was 73.
Songs like “I Got You (I Feel Good),†“Cold Sweat,†“Get Up (I Feel Like Being a) Sex Machine†and “Hot Pants†were heavy on percussion and typical of the James Brown energetic style. He had recently perofmed at the “Electric Proms” in London and showed the same level of enthusiasm . He will be missed but the music lives on.
