Maggie Gyllenhaal is in talks with the makers of Batman, to star as Rachel Dawes in the next film, The Dark Night. Filming will being in the Spring and it is expected to be released in 2008. The indie film star will take over the role from Katie Holmes, who annouced that she was dropping out of the project in January.
Christian Bale will reprise his role as The Caped Crusader and the film will also star Heath Ledger as The Joker. Aaron Eckhart will take the role of villain, Two-Face
