Actress Elizabeth Hurley will today complete the final part of her extraordinary marriage celebrations with a second ceremony within 7 days, in the luxurious Umaid Bhaven Palace in Jodphur, India. She recently married German-Indian businessman Arun Nayar in on the of the most lavish of ceremonies in the UK, then flew to India for a repeat of the ceremony in Mr Nayar’s native homeland.
Since last weeks ceremony Ms Hurley has been attending a week of parties in the run up to today’s nuptials, with many of her UK guests flown over to India. Today’s event will be lavish, even by Indian standards, with a troupe of elephants, camels and horses set to march through the Indian Palace of Umaid Bhavan. The event will be attended by a host of celebrities from the world stage, as well as royalty in the shape of Princess Marie Chantal of Greece – quite a move up in the world from the UK born actress who spends the majority of her time flying between the US and UK.
Ms Hurley’s former lover Hugh Grant will also be attending today’s ceremony after his recent split from Goldsmith heiress Jemima Khan. While Ms Hurley and Hugh Grant have always been close, it seems that their friendship may well have been at the heart of Grant’s recent split, thereby freeing him to attend his friend and business partner’s wedding.
Even though Ms Hurley still has a number of movie roles to consider in the not too distant future, she tends to spend a fair amount of her time “behind the camera†these days, running her TV production company with Mr Grant. Quite how her life will change now that she has married her new love remains to be seen, but Hugh Grant and Elizabeth Hurley are never too far apart.
