Like mother, like daughter – Zara Phillips, the grand daughter of the Queen has followed in her mother Princess Anne’s footsteps, after been revealed as the BBC Sports Personality Of The Year.
Ms Phillips is an accomplished Equestrian and recently collected an individual Gold medal at the Three Day Word Equestrian Games, in Germany. Her competent performance also ensured that Team GB walked away with the Team Silver medal, and out performed all expectations for the event.
Ms Phillips seemed visibly moved as she rose to collect her award, not even having a pre-prepared speech to hand. Ryder Cup golfer Darren Clarke, who recently lost his wife to cancer was second, with 21-year-old World Gymnastics gold medal winner Beth Tweddle in third place.
